THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ALPHENHORN (S Moodley) and UNASSAILABLE LAD (K Sakayi) lost 1 length, respectively. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) DUKE OF ORANGE (D Dillon) was hanging in, in the straight, proving difficult to assist. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer P B Muscutt will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. b) SIR THEODORE (A Arries) shifted out away from the crop between the 300m and 200m. c) STATEOFUSA (K de Melo) was hanging in from the 300m. d) At the 300m, Jockey S Veale (TRITON) briefly dropped his right side rein. Thereafter, at the 250m, TRITON (S Veale) was carried in marginally by BILLY BAZOOKA (A Mgudlwa) which rolled in. A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into the above incident however, after viewing the patrol films from the various angles, no further action was taken. e) BILLY BAZOOKA (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty advised (HM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) UNASSAILABLE LAD raced with cheek pieces (advised 09.12.21/8h08). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) DUKE OF ORANGE : Nothing obvious detected. b) UNASSAILABLE LAD : Fatigued. c) ALPHENHORN : Coughing. d) BILLY BAZOOKA : Returned post-race having cast the right front shoe. SCRATCHINGS : a) OH MY WORD ITS ROY : Insufficient recovery time (Trainer - 11.12.21/9h17). Rule 53.5 applies.
