THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CRIMSON CAUSEWAY (*K A Brewer) was stubborn loading. b) SOUTH BOY (ARG) (C Maujean) was stubborn loading. Trainer J J Van Vuuren was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (PHvdW). c) RAMCHANDANI ROAD (M Yeni) was stubborn loading and thereafter restless in the stalls. Stable Employee W Viriera, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). d) TUSCAN WINTER (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, SOUTH BOY ARG (C Maujean) had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of LETSDOIT (J Penny), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with TUSCAN WINTER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) CRIMSON CAUSEWAY (*K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G H van Zyl advised (AH).
