THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SERVICE ACE (R Munger) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m I WANT IT ALL (G van Niekerk) was carried out by SAINT WEST (D Schwarz) which rolled out away from DUBAI LIGHTS (C Bantam) which rolled out away from SENSO UNICO (R Fourie) which shifted out and had to be straightened. b) At the 100m I WANT IT ALL (G van Niekerk) rolled in slightly and had to be straightened. c) From the 50m I WANT IT ALL (G van Niekerk) was carried out and bumped by SENSO UNICO (R Fourie) approximately five strides before the finish. Jockey G van Niekerk (I WANT IT ALL) called a race review regarding this incident which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Jockey G van Niekerk, the rider of the 2nd placed horse I WANT IT ALL, against the winner SENSO UNICO (R Fourie) on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after giving due regard to the evidence put forward, reviewing the race recording and considering the margin of 0,05 of a length between the two horses concerned, was of the opinion that I WANT IT ALL (G van Niekerk) would have finished ahead of SENSO UNICO (R Fourie) had this incident not occurred and therefore upheld the Objection. d) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with GIMMIE A STAR. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) SENSO UNICO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
