THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHANTY LANE (G Wright) and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE (K de Melo) were stubborn to load. b) OCTOBER SONG (S Moodley) and CAPTAIN ARIANO (S Brown) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1200m, MAIDENS PRAYER (M Ntuli) was inconvenienced on the inside of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE which shifted in. b) In the concluding stages, TWICETHEQUALITY (M Yeni) was carried out by SASHAY AWAY (W Kennedy) which shifted out away from the crop from the 150m, and thereafter was eased off the heels of SASHAY AWAY (W Kennedy) shortly before the finish. Jockey W Kennedy signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of SASHAY AWAY, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horse TWICETHEQUALITY (M Yeni) in the concluding stages. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension Dates : 24.12.2021 to the 30.12.2021, bdi). c) Jockey K de Melo reported that UNCONDITIONAL LOVE faltered on two occasions shortly before entering the straight and as a result he eased this filly out of the race entering the straight. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer M Trott acting on behalf of Trainer S J Snaith will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. d) SASHAY AWAY (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (LB). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) UNCONDITIONAL LOVE was ridden by Jockey K de Melo (advised 19.12.21/8h53). b) CAPTAIN ARIANO raced with a compression mask. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) UNCONDITIONAL LOVE : Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
