THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INDIAN WAR DANCE (*K A Brewer) and ADMIRALS MOON (F Herholdt) were slow into stride. b) LESHAWES (S Khumalo) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer H E Adamson was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement (GT). c) GIMME A DREAM (W Kennedy) jumped outwards sharply leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) FLAG BEARER (C Maujean) and GINJAMATINJA (K Matsunyane) over-raced in the early stages b) TAKAGARI (M Yeni) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) FLASHY APACHE (D Schwarz) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. d) At approximately the 500m, JUST A MEMORY (G Lerena) was turned inwards when bumped by TOUCHED BY STARS (M van Rensburg) who in turn had to check when awkwardly placed on the outside of MY TRUE NORTH (Wes Marwing) which shifted out. Jockey Wes Marwing was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of MY TRUE NORTH, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TOUCHED BY STARS (M van Rensburg) and JUST A MEMORY (G Lerena) when he shifted out at the 500m. Jockey Marwing signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Suspension dates to be advised. e) FLASHY APACHE (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey advised (RS). f) GIMME A DREAM (W Kennedy), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee K Peter advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
