THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ADDERBURY LAKE (GB) (R Fourie) jumped outwards and made contact with LIDL MISS SUNSHINE (S Khumalo) b) FLY TO RIO (C Bantam) jumped outwards and made contact with SWEET MARY JANE (C Zackey) which, as a consequence, was slow into stride. c) MAGICAL JAVA (G Cheyne) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, ROCKET GIRL (R Khathi) cast her left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay. b) LILLYBELLE (G van Niekerk) failed to secure a narrow run between the inside running rail and MAGICAL JAVA (G Cheyne) in the straight, resulting in Jockey G van Niekerk electing to shift LILLYBELLE outwards to continue his run at the 150m. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with LIDL MISS SUNSHINE. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that SWEET MARY JANE, which was hanging out in the straight and proved difficult to assist from the 200m, made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) ADDERBURY LAKE (GB), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PD Reeves was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) A Andrews rode CRACKLIN' ROSE (Jockey A Domeyer stood down after Race 7. Rule 25.12 applied) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) LIDL MISS SUNSHINE - examined post-race. Not striding out left front b) SWEET MARY JANE - examined post-race. Abnormal respiratory noise c) VERONIQUE - Abnormal respiratory noise THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
