THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KWITE A TRIP (*J R Syster) was slow into stride. b) ANNA CAPRI (G Lerena) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) VARS VICKY (K Matsunyane) stumbled leaving the stalls and thereafter slow into stride. d) BARD OF AVON (R Munger) was stubborn loading. Trainer A B Fortune was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement (GT). e) SINGFORAFA (C Maujean) was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to SINGFORAFA, this mare has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 29 December 2021 to 4 January 2022. SINGFORAFA may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer C Spies advised (GT). b) Shortly after the start, GALLIC PRINCESS (K de Melo) and KWITE A TRIP (*J R Syster) were bumped in by ANNA CAPRI (G Lerena) which jumped inwards. c) In the concluding stages, KWITE A TRIP (*J R Syster) had to steady momentarily and switch in to avoid running onto the heels of WINTER STORIES (B Nyawo). d) In view of the performance of ALESIAN CHIEF (J Penny), (betting 3/1, distance 8,30 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer C J Lensley was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this colt on return to stables. e) ANNA CAPRI (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen advised (MdP). f) GALLIC PRINCESS (K de Melo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Ncube advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WINTER STORIES was ridden by Jockey B Nyawo (Jockey M Yeni - flight complications). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SINGFORAFA raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 21 December 2021 at 09H56). b) ALESIAN CHIEF raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 21 December 2021 at 10H48). c) BARD OF AVON raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 27 December 2021 at 07H09). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ALESIAN CHIEF examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) KWITE A TRIP abnormal respiratory noise post race.
