THE STARTER REPORTED A) LINGUEE was stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Shortly after the start, ARCTIC ADVANCE (G Cheyne) was bumped out by WAR MAN (L Mxothwa) which jumped outwards. B) KLASERIE (M Yeni) was hanging out, proving difficult to assist and was eased out of the race at the 1300m. Jockey M Yeni reported something amiss on KLASERIE in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) At approximately the 1600m, DAME COLLEEN (K Matsunyane) took an awkward stride when she clipped the heels of JEAN PAUL (C Maujean). D) LINGUEE (R Fourie) tired quickly from the 500m. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie felt something amiss on LINGUEE in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. E) Jockey C Maujean reported that JEAN PAUL made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. F) The winner YOUNG NELSON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer Z Oosthuizen advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) NUSSPLY raced equipped with blinkers (18:20 - 01/01/2022). B) KLASERIE raced equipped with alumites front, unshod behind and with blinkers (11:00 - 01/01/2021). C) JOE HARMAN Jockey M V'Rensburg replaced Jockey W Kennedy (13:10 - 02/01/2022). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) LINGUEE lame right fore. B) JEAN PAUL abnormal respiratory noise. C) CLO CLO scalp wound right hind. D) KLASERIE examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
