THE STARTER REPORTED A) SUBTERFUGE and OLIVINE were slow into stride. B) THE VILLA GRAND was slow away and lost many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this filly is withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) THE VILLA GRAND was slow away losing many lengths, thereafter Jockey T Gould reported that this filly took no interest in the running. In view of this report, the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) In view of the Starter's report with regard to THE VILLA GRAND (T Gould), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable to jump on terms. Suspension dates: 15 January 2022 to 21 January 2022 both days included. THE VILLA GRAND may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J A J Visser was advised. c) The winner CATCH THE CAT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). D) The second placed horse BLINDLOVE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer Z Oosthuizen advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) LADY NICA Jockey E Webber replaced Jockey W Agrella (07:14 - 14/01/2022). B) SILENT OBSERVER raced equipped with blinkers (07:31 - 13/01/2022). C) AFTER THE STORM raced equipped with a compression mask (11:13 - 10/01/2022). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER A) PRINCESS OF WINTER raced in club blue colours, with Stipes permission. B) MADAME PATRICE Jockey M Mjoka carried 0.5 Kg overweight, weighed out at 53.3 Kgs. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) THE VILLA GRAND examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. B) GOLIGHTLY mouth injury and abrasion left cranial shoulder. C) BLINDLOVE blood in mouth. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
