THE STARTER REPORTED A) AFRICAN HOOPOE was slow into stride. B) QUE COSAS was nervous and stood awkwardly in the stalls. C) KAYC AL jumped outwards leaving the stalls. D) FLAMING LASS refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this mare is withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) Approaching the 1000m, AFRRICAN HOOPOE (K Minnie) which commenced to over-race, brushed the inside running rail, carrying KAYC AL (R Fourie) and LADY OF THE FLAME (K Matsunyane) outwards. As a result of this, QUE COSAS (X Ndlovu) had to steady and switch outwards to avoid running onto the heels of AFRICAN HOOPOE. This in turn resulted in SWEET THE SOUND (G Cheyne) and KAREN BLIXEN (M V'Rensburg) being carried outwards. B) Jockey M Mjoka (VIHZOE'S MAGIC) became dislodged in the pull up area when his mount ducked inwards sharply to avoid a patch on a track. Jockey M Mjoka was taken to the Medical Centre for examination and treatment, this precluded him from weighing in. The Board acting in terms of Rule 66.2 deemed his weight to be correct. C) In view of the Starter's report with regard to FLAMING LASS (*Y Ramzan), this mare's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 14 days and until such time as she proves tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 15 January 2022 to 28 January 2022 both days included. FLAMING LASS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer G D Smith was advised. D) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning FLORIDA KEYS (L Mxothwa), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer S B Kotzen was advised. E) The winner BOLD DECISION was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer K Mitchley acting on behalf of Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) FLAMING LASS raced equipped with a compression mask (09:40 - 13/01/2022). B) DIAMONDS AND TOADS raced equipped with a compression mask (09:40 - 13/01/2022). C) KAREN BLIXEN raced equipped with a compression mask (09:40 - 13/01/2022). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) FLORIDA KEYS bilateral epistaxis, 60 days suspension days applies. B) LADY OF THE FLAME abnormal respiratory noise.
