THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISS OTIS (+T Mango) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1500m, MIDFIELD GIRL (+T Baase) and ALL THE ROSES (+V Sithetho) had to check when awkwardly placed on the heels of DHANTERAS (+P Mongqawa), which was carried in by QUEEN'S NAVY (+T Matsoele), which shifted in. Work Rider T Matsoele was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of QUEEN'S NAVY, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ALL THE ROSES (+V Sithetho), MIDFIELD GIRL (+T Baase) and DHANTERAS (+P Mongqawa) when he shifted in at approximately the 1500m. Work Rider T Matsoele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Date of Suspension: 27 January 2022. b) Work Rider S Mosia reported that ELUSIVE ROCKET changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) DHANTERAS (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter advised (LN). WORK RIDER CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) QUEEN'S NAVY raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 10 January 2022 at 08H55). b) MIDFIELD GIRL raced with club colours (all black). Trainer P F Matchett was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse MIDFIELD GIRL. Trainer P F Matchett signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 500.00 was imposed. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ELUSIVE ROCKET blowing post race. b) QUEEN'S NAVY abnormal respiratory noise and blowing post race. c) MON TRESOR scalp wound right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
