THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DUNSTEALMYTHUNDA (*R Venniker) and MAIN QUEST (M Yeni) were stubborn to load. b) THE DONELLY (A Arries) was stubborn to load and lost 1 length. c) ONE SHOT WONDER (S Moodley) reared in the stalls. d) FIRU STAR (A Mgudlwa) reared in the stalls and lost 1 length. e) CAPTAINS WALK (D De Gouveia) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) FOREST PHOENIX (S Brown) raced wide in the early and middle stages. b) Apprentice C Dicken (FERNEY) dropped his left side rein at the 300m which he only regained at the 150m. c) Jockey M Yeni reported that MAIN QUEST did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer L Goosen will be requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. d) PINEVIEW (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
