THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TWICETHEQUALITY (D De Gouveia) was stubborn to load. b) CHANTY LANE (*R Venniker) lost 5 lengths. c) FIRE FAERIE (*C Dicken) lost 4 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to CHANTY LANE (*R Venniker), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 20.01.22 to the 26.01.22. CHANTY LANE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer W Whitehead will be advised. (MS) c) ANOTHER LOVE (*M Zuma) over-raced in the early and middle stages. d) At the 1400m, CHANTY LANE (*R Venniker) which raced fiercely in the early and middle stages, had to ease when awkwardly placed on heels. e) FIRE FAERIE (*C Dicken) was carried wide into the first turn when awkwardly placed on the outside of SACRED BLUES (J Gates) which failed to negotiate the first turn when over-racing in the early and middle stages. f) ANOTHER LOVE (*M Zuma) raced wide from the 700m. g) An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey K Sakayi's (DRAMA QUEEN) ride in the concluding stages. h) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he misused his crop by striking the horse JACQUELINE more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Veale struck the horse JACQUELINE, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. i) SULTANAH (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (DZ).
