THE STARTER REPORTED
A) The Farrier replaced the left front shoe on DOPPIO ORO.
B) JASPERO was nervous in the stalls.
C) RAISE THE STANDARD was slow away and lost 1 length.
D) GREENLIGHTFLASH was slow away and lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) GREENLIGHTFLASH (S Naidoo) was reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer J A Visser was advised that should this gelding behave similarly in future it may be suspended.
B) MORSE (R Munger) over-raced in the early stages.
C) Jockey M V'Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with PASSING STORM in the running and eased this gelding out of the race from the 400m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
D) JASPERO (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 200m.
E) Jockey J Penny reported that NINJINSKY'S SON did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
F) Jockey S Naidoo reported that GREENLIGHTFLASH changed stride continually in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
G) In view of the performance of INTERSTATE (S Khathi) (distance 14.90 - betting 4/1) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
H) The winner COFFEE BREAK was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer Z Oosthuizen advised (LM).
