THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAWKER TYPHOON (*K A Brewer), ULULATE (S Brown) and SPICE MARKET (S Khumalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After showing no early gate speed, ULULATE (S Brown) was encouraged forward vigorously in order to maintain contact with the field. b) ADMIRE ME (C Habib) hung in from the 400m to the 200m. c) ELUSIVE CURRENT (G Lerena) which rolled in from the 400m to the 200m, commenced to hang in in the concluding stages. d) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that OUR PRIZED JEWEL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) BON VIVANT (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (RS).
