THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BELLA SWAN (M Khan) stood losing many lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BELLA SWAN, this filly has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 23 January 2022 to 29 January 2022. BELLA SWAN may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer P A Peter advised (GT). b) Approaching the 1900m, KOOPA TROOPA (S Khumalo) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of THREE HILLS (*K A Brewer). As a consequence, THE SASH (K Matsunyane) had to steady to avoid the heels of KOOPA TROOPA. The circumstances surrounding this incident led to RABIA THE REBEL (*J R Syster) having to steady and switch out sharply and carried LIVERPOOL LEGEND (G Lerena) onto and ultimately brushed WINNING QUEEN (*P Mxoli) outwards. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that LIVERPOOL LEGEND made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Stable Employee P de Palma was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. d) Jockey S Khumalo reported that KOOPA TROOPA was cut into on its right front in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) STUNNING KITTEN (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee C Jena advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) WINNING QUEEN was ridden by Apprentice P Mxoli who claimed 2,5kg allowance (declared 22 January 2022 at 08H13). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SCOTTADITO raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 18 January 2022 at 12H24). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) RABIA THE REBEL cast its right front shoe and brush wound left hind. b) LIVERPOOL LEGEND examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) KOOPA TROOPA examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
