THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOCKHEEDLIGHTNING (B Fayd'Herbe) & WECANGOALLNIGHT (R Khathi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BEERENBERG (C Bantam), which raced green, shifted in sharply away from the crop at the 300m and had to be straightened. b) FEDERAL RESERVE (M Winnaar) was hanging out from the 200m. c) FURIE NOCTURNE (G Cheyne) and WECANGOALLNIGHT (R Khathi) raced green. d) Trainer VH Marshall was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner of the horse LOCKHEEDLIGHTNING. Trainer VH Marshall signed an Admission of Guilt and was given the penalty of a warning. e) TROMPIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
