THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KING ARTHUR (M Yeni) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) SKY RUNNER (C Zackey) and MOVELIKEJACKSON (C Maujean) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GOLD AMBITION (C Habib) was unruly proceeding to the start, despite the assistance of a lead horse, and had to be led unmounted by a Handler. This gelding is suspended in terms of Rule 93.2.4 and until such time as this gelding proves tractable proceeding to the start on a raceday. Stable Employee S Mtwesi, acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry, advised (GF). b) LINCOLN COUNTY (Wes Marwing) over-raced in the early stages. c) JUST A MEMORY (S Brown) and MOVELIKEJACKSON (C Maujean), which commenced to over-race entering the turn, came together and bumped. d) ASTROCYTE (W Kennedy) was struck by a bird shortly before the finish line. e) In view of the performance of MY TRUE NORTH (G Lerena), (distance 6,00 lengths, betting 5/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) Jockey M Khan reported that MASTER OF COIN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. g) ASTROCYTE (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GOLD AMBITION raced without blinkers (declared 27 January 2022 at 08H11). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MY TRUE NORTH brush wound left hind. b) MASTER OF COIN blowing post race. c) RISHAAN'S BOY scalp wound right hind. d) LINCOLN COUNTY coughing; lame right front.
