THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) MISS MILLSTREAM (B Fayd'Herbe) broke through the starting stalls, was restrained after cantering a short distance, returned to the start, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, found suitable to race and reloaded.
b) Fair start.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) REGINA ISABELLA (K de Melo) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a handler, causing a delay. Trainer SJ Snaith will be advised that should she behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended.
b) At the 1000m NIPPY WINTER (G Cheyne) was steadied off the heels of HILARITY (GB) (S Khumalo).
c) At the 800m WARM WELCOME (R Khathi) was tightened for galloping room on the inside of BLACK PATH C Orffer) which over raced, shifted in and had to be directed outwards.
d) POLAR WORLD (C Zackey) was hanging out from the 400m.
e) Jockey K de Melo reported he felt something amiss with REGINA ISABELLA. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f) Jockey S Khumalo reported HILARITY (GB) changed stride continually in running and he did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
g) In view of the performance of FORRIES FOREVER (C Bantam) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
h) WARM WELCOME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (TJ)
