THE STARTER REPORTED: a) OLYMPIC MAGIC (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, PRETTY IN PEARLS (C Zackey) lost substantial ground when it was squeezed out between OLYMPIC MAGIC (C Habib) and CRITICAL THINKING (K de Melo), which was brushed out by IPHIKO (K Matsunyane), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey C Zackey (PRETTY IN PEARLS) appeared before the Board and was questioned with regards to his riding and the reasons for racing detached from the field. Jockey C Zackey explained to the Board that although he suffered interference shortly after the start, the filly lacked speed in the early and middle stages of the race. PRETTY IN PEARLS responded to Jockey C Zackey's urgings at the 300m and finished the race off strongly. c) TIME IS TICKING (M Khan), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (RS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) TRACY'S PRINCESS was ridden by Jockey W Kennedy (declared 30 January 2022 at 09H09). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) OLYMPIC MAGIC scalp wound right hind.
