THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MINGALABA (C Zackey) was stubborn loading and thereafter stumbled leaving the stalls. b) RATTLE BAG (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MINGALABA (C Zackey) over-raced in the early stages, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter this filly failed to negotiate the turn by hanging outwards badly and raced very wide into the straight. Despite Jockey C Zackey's attempts to straighten MINGALABA, this filly continued to hang out. b) PASHASHA (*K A Brewer) shifted out away from the crop at the 300m and was straightened. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that MINGALABA stumbled shortly after the start and took a number of awkward strides. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey M Khan reported that AZUCAR did not act in the going. e) GREEK MISS (S Brown), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) RATTLE BAG was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 30 January 2022 at 09H45). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) MINGALABA examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) ELUSIVE ROCKET stirrup rub on the left side. c) JAPAN APPROVAL blowing post race. d) ANGEL'S WISH blowing post race. e) GREEK MISS brush wound left hind.
