THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) THE DONELLY (A Arries) was stubborn to load.
b) SHINING SEA (S Brown) was squeezed out.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to THE DONELLY (A Arries), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 03.02.22 to the 09.02.22. THE DONELLY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer M N Prinsloo was advised. (SL)
b) DREAM ROLLER (*K Strydom) was hanging in from the 600m.
c) SPECIALLY SELECTED (W Kennedy) was hanging in from the 400m.
d) At the 300m, ALCAZAR (D De Gouveia) which was hanging in from the 600m, was carried out by LA PEREGRINA (L Mohapi) which raced greenly in the running and shifted out away from the crop.
e) At the 250m, MR MOLONY (S Moodley) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of PASSAGE OF POWER (J Gates) which shifted out away from the crop.
Jockey J Gates signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of PASSAGE OF POWER, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horse MR MOLONY (S Moodley) at the 250m. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension Dates : 08.02.22 to the 14.02.22, bdi)
f) Apprentice S Sosibo (BIM BAM BUDDY) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride.
g) PASSAGE OF POWER (J Gates), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Hill advised (HM).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a) RARE FLAG was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (advised 02.02.22/9h35).
b) SHINING SEA was ridden by Jockey S Brown (advised 31.01.22/18h30).
c) THE BRIEF raced equipped with blinkers (advised 01.02.22/10h23).

e) THE DONELLY raced without blinkers (advised 02.02.22/5h44).
