THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) (C Maujean) refused to jump. The Starting Stall Certificate for this mare has been withdrawn.
b) PHOENIX (S Khumalo) jumped slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to KAY TEE PERRY (ARG), this mare has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 4 February 2022 to 10 February 2022. KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) may not be presented for repassing during this period. Stable Employee J Vermeulen advised (PHvdW).
b) PIN UP (W Kennedy) hung out from the 300m. ROSAPRIMA (*R A Venniker) shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. Thereafter in the concluding stages, ROSAPRIMA was carried out marginally by PIN UP which shifted out away from the crop.
A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Trainer D N Stenger on behalf of the second placed horse ROSAPRIMA (*R A Venniker) against the winner PIN UP (W Kennedy) on the grounds of intimidation in the concluding stages. The Board after giving regard to the evidence presented by the relevant parties, was of the opinion that Apprentice Venniker's movement was independent and only in the concluding stages, was there a marginal carry from Jockey Kennedy (PIN UP) onto ROSAPRIMA (*R A Venniker). Therefore the Board was satisfied that the result had not been affected by this incident, overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. Trainer Stenger's deposit was refunded.
c) PIN UP (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (LN).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) was ridden by Jockey C Maujean (declared 3 February 2022 at 08H31).
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) LEE EXPRESS raced equipped with a pressure halter and fitted with a compression mask (declared 2 February 2022 at 12H00).
b) TERRA TIME raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 27 January 2022 at 08H09).
TERRA TIME Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) LET THERE BE LIGHT blowing and right nasal discharge.
b) KAY TEE PERRY (ARG) post race distress.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
