THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOMBAY CIRCUS (M Yeni) stood losing 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SIR THEODORE (S Khumalo) jumped the shadow cast by a light-pole at the 1700m. b) CAPE THUNDER (S Brown) raced wide into the final straight. c) Approaching the 300m, BLAZING LIGHT (S Veale) was switched out off the heels of DUKE OF ORANGE (D Dillon) which had shifted in. d) Apprentice C Dicken (DJANGO) accidentally dropped his crop at the 150m. e) Trainer G Rich appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of DJANGO (*C Dicken), placed second. He explained to the Board that the change of surface to the polytrack could have accounted for the improvement shown today. Mr Rich undertook to race this gelding on the polytrack surface where possible in future. f) SYX HOTFIX (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) BOMBAY CIRCUS raced equipped with blinkers and a tongue tie (advised 04.02.22/9h59). b) SIR THEODORE raced without blinkers (advised 04.02.22/9h59).
