THE STARTER REPORTED: a) EDITTA (S Brown), DEFENDER OF RIGHTS (D De Gouveia) and PRETTY IN PEARLS (C Zackey) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CROWN PLAZA (K Matsunyane) over-raced and proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Approaching the 200m, PINK DIAMOND (S Khumalo), which had come to the end of its run, had to steady momentarily to avoid the heels of PRETTY IN PEARLS (C Zackey), which switched out to continue its run. c) Jockey M Khan reported that he felt something amiss with IN THE ETHER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SACRED VALLEY (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (LN). e) DEFENDER OF RIGHTS (D De Gouveia), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
