THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) Approaching the 1600m, STATELY HOME (S Brown) became unbalanced when bumped by WINNING QUEEN (J Gates) which was awkwardly placed on the inside of QUEEN BOMI (R Munger) which shied inwards away from ONTHEVERGE (G Lerena).
b) Leaving the 200m, TUULETAR (B Nyawo) was brushed in by DHANTERAS (W Kennedy) which ducked in sharply for no apparent reason and was immediately straightened.
c) Jockey C Zackey was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LIVERPOOL LEGEND more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Zackey singed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R2500 was imposed.
When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (19), the distance over which and manner in which the crop was used, as well as Jockey Zackey's recent record (2) with regard to this Rule and Guideline.
d) STATELY HOME (S Brown), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P de Palmo advised (LN).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) WINNING QUEEN was ridden by Jockey J Gates (declared 15 February 2022 at 09H20).
b) PASCHALS SAMORE was ridden by Apprentice P Mxoli who claims 2,5kg allowance (declared 15 February 2022 at 07H10).

a) SAFFRON RAIN raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 10 February 2022 at 07H58).
