THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SONG OF LIBERTY (C Zackey) and CLEOPAS (*K A Brewer) jumped inwards and WESTERN VIEW (C Maujean) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) BACK TO FORMENTERA (*P Mxoli) was slow losing one length. c) PICARA (K de Melo), COLOUR CODED (D de Gouveia) and ON DUTY (J Mariba) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BELLE OMBRE (Wes Marwing) was squeezed out between SONG OF LIBERTY (C Zackey) and CLEOPAS (*K A Brewer) which jumped inwards. b) Jockey Wes Marwing reported that he felt something amiss with BELLE OMBRE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey C Habib reported that NAMIBSROOS took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) WESTERN VIEW (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (RS). e) PICARA (K de Melo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
