THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUEEN'S NAVY (Wes Marwing) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1200m, AZUCAR (J Mariba) commenced to over-race and had to steady off the heels of COURANTE (R Fourie). b) SUNDROP (W Kennedy) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, Jockey W Kennedy reported that SUNDROP choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) COURANTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) AZUCAR was ridden by Jockey J Mariba (declared 18 February 2022 at 12H53).
