THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VOLDEMORT (A Marcus) was fractious, reared in the stalls, was taken out, checked by the veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay. b) RAGNAR LOTHBROK (A Andrews) jumped awkwardly outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) KALAHARI FERRARI (C Zackey) proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Jockey A Andrews (RAGNAR LOTHBROK) dropped his right-side rein at the 250m which he only regained after the finish. c) In view of the performance of SILVER SALMON (S Cele), which faded quickly from the 250m and finished tailed off, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the report from the starter regarding VOLDEMORT (A Marcus), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 22/02/2022 to 28/02/2022 inclusive). VOLDEMORT may not be presented for re-passing during this period e) DOUBLE CHARGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WA Nel was advised.
