MR HUGO was slow into stride. BALLON D'OR and PHANTOM ROLLS jumped outwards. CAPETOWN AFFAIR and PHANTOM ROLLS came together and bumped shortly after the start. STORMY WINTER, MR HUGO and PHANTOM ROLLS over-raced in the early and middle stages. At approximately the 250m STEAK AND ALE was carried out by STOP FOR NOTHING, which shifted out sharply away from the crop. As a consequence of this CAPETOWN AFFAIR, STORMY WINTER, LAND OF THE BRAVE and PHANTOM ROLLS were carried outwards significantly. A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review into this incident, which was followed by him lodging an objection on behalf of the third placed horse, STEAK AND ALE, against the second placed horse, STOP FOR NOTHING, on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Board, after reviewing the patrol film and hearing the evidence put forward by the respective parties, was of the opinion that the result of the race had been affected by this incident, that STEAK AND ALE would have finished ahead of STOP FOR NOTHING and therefore upheld the objection and amended the judge's result accordingly. The Board was also of the opinion that STOP FOR NOTHING'S shift was sharp and sudden and deemed this to be a racing incident and took no further action against Jockey Munger. TALLINN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Scratched: ILLUSION - off feed. ETCHED IN BLUE - off feed.
