THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MISS DAISY (N Qaule) was restless in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. b) ROSSLYNE (D Lerena) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. c) COMPLICATA (C Zackey), MAGIC INSPIRATION (C Habib) and TRIED AND TRUE (Wes Marwing) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) COMPLICATA (C Zackey) proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer R Klaasen was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended (RH). b) MISS COOL (W Kennedy) hung in from the 300m. c) Jockey N Qaule, the rider of MISS DAISY, accidentally dropped his crop at the 50m. d) In view of the performance of EMIRATE GINA (G Lerena), (distance 6,25 lengths, betting 15/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer R R Magner was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of this filly on return to stables. e) MISS COOL (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Peter advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) UNITED EXPRESS was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 24 February 2022 at 10H17). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) VANTAGE POINT raced with a compression mask (declared 17 February 2022 at 11H09). b) MAGIC INSPIRATION raced with a tongue tie on (declared 24 February 2022 at 08H11). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) EMIRATE GINA examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) MISS DAISY blowing post race. c) UNITED EXPRESS stall injury on the left hip.
