THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TAKAGARI (R Munger), GENERAL PASCHAL (R Danielson) and INTERCITY (*P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SARDO NUMSPA (J Mariba) over-raced in the early stages. b) At approximately the 300m, ROYAL SIEGE (D Lerena) was carried out marginally by TAKAGARI (R Munger), which switched out to avoid running onto the heels of SARDO NUMSPA (J Mariba), which had come to the end of its run. c) KISSED BY FIRE (G Lerena) hung out from the 300m, d) Apprentice J R Syster was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking CAPE BOUQUET more than twelve times in the entire race. Apprentice J R Syster signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R 1,500.00 was imposed. When assessing this penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times the crop was used (17) and Apprentice J R Syster's recent record with regards to this Rule and Guideline (1). e) LONDON ROADS (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer P A Peter, advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KISSED BY FIRE was ridden by Jockey G Lerena (declared 23 February 2022 at 11H58).
