THE STARTER REPORTED A) POT SOX refused to load and was subsequently withdrawn by the Starter. The starting stall certificate for this filly is withdrawn. B) FLY MY FLAG was stubborn loading. C) FRANCA was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. D) MERCURY RISING was slow away and lost 3 lengths. E) PHIL'S DANCER was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At approximately the 150m, FRANCA (K Minnie) was steadied to avoid the heels of SANTA MARIA (G van Niekerk) which shifted out away from the crop from the 200m. B) Jockey W Kennedy reported that JOYFUL NOISE changed stride continually in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey C Maujean reported that LOLLAPALOOZA took no interest in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) In view of the Starter's report with regard to POT SOX (R Munger), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading into the stalls. Suspension dates: 26 February 2022 to 04 March 2022 both days included. POT SOX may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee M Cloete on behalf of Trainer S B Kotzen was advised. E) After the running of this race, Jockey M V'Rensburg was stood down by the Course Medical Officer due to a right shoulder injury. Rule 25.12 applies. F) The winner SANTA MARIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer C Bass-Robinson advised (LM). G) The second placed horse JOYFUL NOISE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Assistant Trainer D G Smith acting on behalf of Trainer G D Smith advised (LM).
