THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 300m CAT DADDY (R Fourie) was switched out to continue its run on the outside of MY BESTIE (G Cheyne) and shortly thereafter was carried outwards by WARRIOR (G van Niekerk) which itself was switched out for a clear run. Between the 250m and the finish CAT DADDY (R Fourie), which showed a tendency to hang inwards and WARRIOR (G van Niekerk), which raced tight on the outside of MY BESTIE (G Cheyne), brushed on a number of occasions. b) Leaving the 200m Jockey L Mxothwa (SUPER SILVANO) briefly dropped his right-side rein. c) Jockey G Lerena reported NEXUS took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of SACHDEV (C Zackey), which tired quickly in the latter stages, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) Jockey A Andrews reported he felt something amiss with ROCKIN' RINGO and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine. f) SILVER OPERATOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (TJ) g) MY BESTIE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised.
