THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POMANDER (M van Rensburg) refused to jump losing many lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this mare has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the Starter's report with regard to POMANDER, this mare has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 2 March 2022 to 8 March 2022. POMANDER may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainers B/Y Botes / Vosloo advised (PHvdW). b) When racing in close quarters in the concluding stages, CASTLE DURROW (C Zackey) was bumped out on two occasions by OPERA GLASS (M Yeni) which hung out. An Objection was lodged by a member of the Stipendiary Board on behalf of 3rd placed CASTLE DURROW against 2nd placed OPERA GLASS on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after giving regard to the evidence put forward by all parties, was of the opinion that this incident had affected the result of the race and that but for the interference, CASTLE DURROW would have finished ahead of OPERA GLASS. Therefore the Objection was upheld and the Judges result was amended. 1st (7) WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE (D Schwarz) 2nd (4) CASTLE DURROW (C Zackey) 3rd (2) OPERA GLASS (M Yeni) 4th (3) TRAVELING WILBURY (G Lerena) 5th (11) FLYING FIRST CLASS (R Fourie) c) WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
