THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DJANGO (*C Dicken) fly-jumped leaving the stalls and was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) DJANGO (*C Dicken) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. b) At the 200m, IRON CHEF (M Yeni) shifted in and was immediately straightened. c) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that ITSA KINDA made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running and was coughing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse BLAZING LIGHT more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey S Veale struck the horse BLAZING LIGHT, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop and his record (5) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. e) DJANGO (*C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
