THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TALES OF US (R Khathi) over-raced in the early stages. b) Between the 1600m and the 1400m, WONDERING STAR (M van Rensburg) which over-raced in the early stages, was switched out on two occasions when awkwardly placed on the heels of GROOMEDTOWIN (W Kennedy). Thereafter, WONDERING STAR (M van Rensburg) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. c) At the 300m, PASHTUNWALI (A Marcus) which was baulked from the 400m and was switched out for a clear run. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, PASHTUNWALI (A Marcus) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the outside of ROY'S COMMAND (K de Melo) which rolled out marginally. d) ROY'S COMMAND (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
