THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ON CUE (R Munger) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In the concluding stages, ALEX THE GREAT (C Zackey) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed between DROGHIERE (D David) and WHO'S THAT STAR (C Habib). b) Jockey S Khumalo eased BRONCO BLITZ out of the race at the 400m. Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with BRONCO BLITZ in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey G Lerena reported that ESQUEVELLE was blowing post race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning BRONCO BLITZ, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised. e) ANOTHER THIEF (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
