THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MY MASTER (M Yeni), LESHAWES (M van Rensburg) and RULE BOOK (J P v'd Merwe) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1900m, PEWTER SKY (R Munger) had to ease off the heels of LITIGATION (G Lerena), which shifted in. Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of LITIGATION, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PEWTER SKY (R Munger) when he shifted in at approximately the 1900m. Jockey G Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Suspension dates: To be advised, b) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with FLASHY APACHE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Jockey K de Melo (JUST A MEMORY) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Jockey K de Melo reported that JUST A MEMORY made a severe abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) LITIGATION (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (LN). e) TABEBUIA (C Habib), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G H van Zyl advised (LN). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
