THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A member of the Stipendiary Board called a race review, pertaining to CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) drawn in stall gate 10. In this regard, it was established that, as the start was effected CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) became restless and reared slightly in the starting stalls. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that, any distance lost by CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) was as a result of its own behaviour. Although it had no bearing on the decision taken, this gelding finished in the first 4 placings and the Board was precluded from declaring CAPTAIN SEAGER (K de Melo) to be a non-runner in any event, in terms of the Rules. b) PINEVIEW (R Khathi) was hanging out throughout and raced wide into the straight. c) CAMORA (*R Venniker) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with WHAT A BLAST in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice R Venniker reported that she felt something amiss with CAMORA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Rivalland will be requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. f) Jockey G Wright reported that KNIGHT WARRIOR took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) ZANETTO (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P A Peter advised (NS).
