THE STARTER REPORTED A) HELENCANUCOPE was slow into stride. B) ROYAL WELCOME jumped inwards leaving the stalls. C) TWICE THE SECRET, MAGIC TO THE FORE and JAYTARA were stubborn loading. D) SOCIAL SPIRIT was stubborn loading and jumped awkwardly inwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) TEMPLE BAR (M V'Rensburg) from a wide draw, was ridden forward to obtain a prominent position and commenced to give ground in the straight. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. B) RARE (J Mphanya) raced green in the early stages and consequently raced wide on the bend. C) JAYTARA (J P v'd Merwe) was ridden forward shortly before straightening in a midfield position and weakened suddenly in the closing stages. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. D) The winner ROYAL WELCOME was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff advised (LM). When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of ROYAL WELCOME, Trainer A C Greeff told the Stewards that this filly may prefer the Polytrack surface even though it may be too soon in her career to be certain of this. Trainer A C Greeff was advised of the Rules pertaining to inconsistent form and the filly's future races will be monitored. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) MAGIC TO THE FORE Jockey T M Musekiwa replaced Apprentice K A Brewer (15:49 - 14/03/2022).
