THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QUEEN'S NAVY (S Brown) stood losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer B B Ruiters was advised (PHvdW). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BELLEVARDE (J Mariba) proved reluctant to make use of the top exit of the parade ring for the canter past. Permission was granted for this filly to use the traditional bottom exit. b) Shortly after the start, BELLEVARDE (J Mariba) was buffeted between RED CARPET GIRL (J Penny) and COUNTRY FLAME (K Matsunyane), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to QUEEN'S NAVY (S Brown), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable jumping from the stalls with a companion. Suspension dates: 18 March 2022 to 24 March 2022. QUEEN'S NAVY may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B B Ruiters was advised d) Notwithstanding the fact that Jockey J Mariba won the race aboard BELLEVARDE, he was advised to ride his mounts with suitable determination and vigour so as to leave no room for query from the Stewards. e) BELLEVARDE (J Mariba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
