THE STARTER REPORTED
A) RIO SUPREMO jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
B) ANGEL DEB'S was nervous in the stalls and jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.
C) EUROPEAN SUMMER jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED
A) PRINCESS DEB'S (*A Gwadiso) was hanging in from the 300m.
B) The saddle on HOLA CHIQUITA (*S Sibidla) slipped back in the running. This was confirmed by the Course Veterinary Surgeon.
C) The Stewards will review Workrider E Thuthu's riding of KLASERIE in the concluding stages.
D) In view of the performance of MISS UNITED STATES (*N Mpotye) (distance 9.40 - betting 5/2) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
E) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ANGEL DEB'S (*Z Matwa), and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer D A McKenzie was advised.
F) Workrider V Horing signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 in that he used his crop in a manner which was in contravention of the condition of the race in that he struck the horse EUROPEAN SUMMER on two occasions when his crop hand was off the reins. A penalty of a suspension from riding in 1 Workriders race was imposed.
G) The winner PRINCESS DEB'S was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer D A McKenzie advised (LM).
