THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CANDY FOR MY MOMMY (*K Strydom) was stubborn to load. b) AUTUMN SPIRIT (*G Pieterse) and VISION OF WILL (*R Venniker) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 50m, WINTER JOURNEY (M Yeni) was carried in for a number of strides by ADDIENA (*D Geerthsen) which shifted in away from the crop. As a result, AUTUMN SPIRIT (*G Pieterse) was carried in shortly before the finish. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward with regard to this incident. After reviewing the video evidence, he was of the view that this incident had no bearing on the result of the Race with respect to third and fourth positions and therefore no further action was taken. Apprentice D Geerthsen signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of ADDIENA, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses WINTER JOURNEY (M Yeni) and AUTUMN SPIRIT (*G Pieterse) in the concluding stages. Accordingly, a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension dates to be advised) b) CANDY FOR MY MOMMY (*K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Naidoo advised (HM).
