THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RAIN OR SHINE (W Kennedy) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) BRANDENBURG (M Yeni) was hanging out around the turn and in the early part of the straight. b) At the 200m, PINK FLOYD (R Khathi) was carried out marginally by RAIN OR SHINE (W Kennedy) which was hanging out from the 300m. Thereafter, RAIN OR SHINE (W Kennedy) ducked in away from the shadow cast by the finishing post. c) Jockey R Khathi (PINK FLOYD) appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the change of tactics by racing in a handy position as compared to riding this gelding from off the pace. He explained to the Board that it was not his intention nor was he under instruction to race in a handy position. However, being drawn in starting gate one, he found himself in a handy position from the jump and raced accordingly. The Board was satisfied with this explanation which was corroborated by the video evidence. d) RAIN OR SHINE (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) PROTEA PRIDE Jockey G Wright weighed out at 53.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 53kg. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
