THE STARTER REPORTED: a) THEFUTUREIS BRIGHT (B Fayd'Herbe) was restless in the stalls, nudged the front gate open, was immediately restrained and the front gates closed. b) MILLAHUE (G Cheyne) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 400m POMODORO'S JET (K de Melo) was unable to secure a narrow run between the inside running rail and LINE OF DUTY (L Mxothwa), which rolled in slightly away from SERVICE ACE (C Orffer). Shortly thereafter POMODORO'S JET (K de Melo) took an awkward stride and was directed to the outside of LINE OF DUTY (L Mxothwa), which then shifted out and was immediately straightened. As a result POMODORO'S JET (K de Melo) raced tight on the outside of LINE OF DUTY (L Mxothwa) for a number of strides at the 200m. b) VAN HUNKS (C Zackey) was held up for a clear run between the 300m and the 150m. c) THUNDER MASTER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (SC) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) C Orffer rode SERVICE ACE (Jockey A Andrews stood down by the course medical officer.
