THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LET IT BURN (K de Melo) and TOZZETTI (J Jacobs) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) OVER TWO YOU (G Cheyne) raced wide in the early stages. b) Approaching the 500m CAPTIVE MOON (C Zackey) rolled out and brushed TOZZETTI (J Jacobs), resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced. c) Jockey A Domeyer (I WANT IT ALL) dropped his crop at the 150m. d) Jockey C Zackey reported CAPTIVE MOON did not stride out freely in the straight. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) LET IT BURN (K de Melo) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J Batt) f) Trainer AE Sands was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner of the horse SECRET OASIS. Trainer AE Sands signed an Admission of Guilt and was given the penalty of a warning. g) BLIZZARD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford was advised. (CvA) h) SECRET OASIS, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised.
