THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BEECHAMWOOD BOY (L Mohapi) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TWOSIDESTOASTORY (*R Venniker) which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was difficult to settle and had to be restrained off the heels of other runners on a number of occasions between the 1000m and the 800m. b) BEECHAMWOOD BOY (L Mohapi) was hanging out between the 400m and the 100m. c) BEECHURST (S Moodley) was hanging in from the 150m. d) Trainer A Nassif signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1, in that he failed to ensure that the owners colours were available for the horse TWOSIDESTOASTORY. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. e) IDEAL ACT (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer N Roscoe acting on behalf of Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (LB). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) VOLDEMORT was ridden by Apprentice K Brewer (claiming 1.5kg) (advised 28.03.22/7h26). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) BEECHURST : Abnormal respiratory noise and returned post-race having cast the right hind shoe. b) TWOSIDESTOASTORY : Blowing. c) PURPLE FLAME : Scalp wound left hind and mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
