THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) From the 200m, ALULA'S STAR (*P Mxoli) shifted out away from the crop on two occasions and was straightened. b) Jockey W Kennedy felt something amiss with MUFASA in running and eased him out of the race at the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with GALLIC CHIEF in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of ALESIAN CHIEF (D Schwarz), (betting 5/1, distance 6,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning GALLIC CHIEF, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
