THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MILKTART (D Dillon) jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. b) YGRITTE (S Khumalo) lost 2 lengths. c) WHISPERING GREEN (A Mgudlwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A race review, pertaining to AUTUMN SPIRIT (*G Pieterse) drawn in stall gate 2, was called into the start of this race. In this regard, it was established that, AUTUMN SPIRIT (*G Pieterse) shifted its head into stall gate 3. The handler allocated to this filly straightened its head and the filly jumped on terms with the field. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that, AUTUMN SPIRIT was not impeded by a handler. Therefore, no further action was taken and AUTUMN SPIRIT was deemed to be a runner. b) Shortly after the start, GREEN SLEEVES (A Marcus) and WHISPERING GREEN (A Mgudlwa) were carried outwards and CHASING TIME (M Yeni) was eased on the outside of AUTUMN SPIRIT (*G Pieterse) which jumped outwards sharply leaving the starting stalls. c) Approaching the 200m, Jockey D Dillon (MILKTART) briefly dropped his left side rein. d) Jockey A Marcus reported that GREEN SLEEVES did not act in the act in the prevailing good to soft track conditions. In view of the performance of this filly (18.70 lengths, 7/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey W Kennedy reported that CINNAMON BLUSH made an abnormal respiratory noise in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) AMARANDI (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Kennedy advised (NS).
